Our Roots
Gamma Delta Pi was established on August 27, 2001, on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. This sisterhood organization was founded by five college students, known today as the Five Changing Women:
Jennifer Nex (Navajo)
Sedelta Oosahwee (Cherokee/Mandan/Arikara/Hidatsa)
Joyce Oberly (Comanche/Osage/Chippewa-Cree)
Robin Williams (Kiowa/Apache/Nez Perce/Assiniboine Sioux/Umatilla)
Shema Yearby-Lincoln (Seminole/Creek/Mississippi Choctaw)
Our Mission
Gamma Delta Pi is an organization open to all women who are committed to creating a life-long bond among sisters while instilling character, and appreciation of the native culture, unity, respect, scholarship, and most importantly, the sisterhood of American Indian Women.
